The Story

In a parched, rural Northern California town, an aging search and rescue dog, ARROW (stoic German Shepherd), is still grieving the death of her long-time canine partner, QUIVER. To raise Arrow’s spirits, her trainer/human, BREE, and Bree’s firefighter wife, CAT, adopt a sweet, frenetic shelter dog, WALLABY, (pit bull mix in a china shop). But things don’t go according to plan…

Arrow’s grief has built a wall around her heart and Wallaby can’t remember anything about his past. What is he running from? Why do loud bells send him into a trance? And why is there a mysterious duo secretly searching for him?

When Wallaby sees celebrity dog trainer, QUIMOTHY (movie-star handsome), and his stunningly obedient Afghan, DELILAH, on a TV show, there’s a faint spark of recognition. That night, dazed by the loud ding of a kitchen timer, Wallaby accidentally destroys Quiver’s old dog bed, enraging Arrow. Confused and ashamed, Wallaby runs away, leaving Bree and Cat distraught and Arrow with a decision to make: go rescue her unwanted housemate or defy her humans and let him stay lost. Inspired by memories of her heroic life with Quiver, Arrow sets out into the night, tracking Wallaby to an open train car. But before they can start for home, the door slams shut and the train disappears into the night.

The next morning, Cat and Bree return to the shelter to seek help from JAMIE (NorCal, Gen-Z hippie). Cut to the train car door opening in a strange and astonishing new world: SAN FRANCISCO.

There, Arrow and Wallaby meet MORTY (the world’s oldest rock and roll street Poodle), who takes them on a wild, eye-opening tour of the city during the epic BAY TO BREAKERS foot race. Unable to find a way home, with her age showing and no humans to serve, Arrow begins to question everything she thought she was.

While hosting a mobile adoption event in the city, Jamie finds the dogs and takes them back to the countryside. But before he can return them to Cat and Bree - Wallaby is kidnapped by Quimothy! Arrow once more sets out alone to rescue him.

Enter CLOVER, a Mini-Nubian goat with a plant obsession. Clover heals Arrow’s sore paw and along with the rest of the goat herd, leads Arrow to Wallaby at THE BAD PLACE, Quimothy’s nefarious “training facility”, where he uses advanced technology to suppress the dogs' unique energy fields and bend their will to human whims.

Wallaby tells Arrow he remembers his ugly past and believes this place can make him “good”. Arrow confesses she feels responsible for Quiver’s death and pleads for Wallaby to come home but Wallaby submits to Quimothy’s "training". An epic battle between Quimothy’s army of militant dogs versus Arrow and the goats ensues.

An epic battle between Quimothy’s army of militant dogs versus Arrow and the goats ensues.

With Wallaby successfully under his control, Quimothy orders him to attack Arrow. Arrow refuses to fight back, telling Wallaby it was she and not him who was lost and Wallaby’s faith and goodness is what saved her. Just before Wallaby attacks, Delilah lets out a primal, agonizing howl. Inspired by Arrow’s loyalty and faith, Delilah finally breaks free of Quimothy's suppression. One by one, the other dogs follow suit. In their moment of victory, Arrow suddenly smells something, FIRE.

As wildfire engulfs the building, Arrow manages to get everyone out except Wallaby, who sacrifices himself to save the others. Cat and Bree arrive to battle the flames and are astonished to find Arrow, who alerts them that someone is inside. Cat enters and pulls Wallaby safely from the building but Arrow is feared lost as she tries to save Quimothy. Arrow awakens in a medical tent and the family is tearfully reunited as Quimothy is led away by police.

One year later, Bree and Jamie are opening a new adoption/training facility that trains both humans and dogs. Now a couple, Wallaby and Delilah adopt a group of misfit shelter puppies and Arrow finally understands what really makes her who she is. Love.
